Dance,
is a magnificent expression of music. When this expression is
portrayed with elegance, grace and finesse, through the gorgeous
styles of the Indian Classical and Folk Dances, it simply
creates magic!
Nrithyanidhi’s unique blend of Indian Dance forms woven in
fabulous choreography, not only nurtures individuals but stirs
their souls too. While music stimulates synchronization in a
student, the blending of rhythm and expression help in,
releasing anxiety, and nervousness!
The basics of Kathak
(Tatkar, Turkras, Chakkars, Gath Bhaav, and Kavita in the
Teentaal),
Bharathnatyam (Hastas, posture, Abhinay, stage presence) and
Folk Dance (rhythm, energy, movement, maximum usage of stage),
confluence into brilliant creations,
resulting
in exhilarating and entertaining performances.
Nrithyanidhi functions on the basis of a structured course,
which not only disciplines students but also works on their
self-esteem. The learning atmosphere exposes them to the
history of Indian dance and the essence of various dance forms.
The devotion towards dance gets instilled with regular practice,
stage performances and examinations that a student undergoes.
Students of Nrithyanidhi get an opportunity to showcase their
talent and ideas by doing their own choreography. As a result,
they discuss body movement, ‘Taal’, and ‘Bhava’ required for the
right impact. This not only stimulates creativity but also
helps in discovering concealed emotions and the reasons for the
same.
Shoma Kaikini’s passion for dance is contagious and this passion
effortlessly spreads to her students. Rahul Kaikini, her husband
who is an Event Manager, by profession, is able to organize
shows and give the best of facilities during performances. He
discusses ‘Stage Craft’ with the students, teaching them how to
make the best use of stage, lights, properties and sound. Rahul,
who from a young age, has been assisting his father, Magician Ravindranat, exposes students to the nuances as required to
create a miraculous impact.
Our vision has been to promote Indian Culture and inspire youth
and the others towards Indian Dance in the simplest yet
captivating manner. We have been successful in creating dancers
who are responsible, confident artists of tomorrow!
